Robert Pepler MSW, RSW works privately and on the Adolescent Unit at Ontario Shores and utilizes mindfulness practices daily with himself and in individual, family and group sessions. He has co-led workshops on ‘Mindfulness and Mental Health’ and ‘Mindfulness and Psychotherapy’ and has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Kelly Wilson, etc.

Karen Ormerod, Executive Director of Durham Hospice, will be speaking to us about the ins and outs of the hospice movement. Started in the 70s by Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, hospice has enjoyed tremendous growth in the US and in Canada. Who qualifies for hospice care? How much does it cost? Who can become a hospice volunteer, and how? Hospice
volunteers are part of a large team that help dying patients "live until they die".

Peter Lauricella - Chocolate Communion
Peter Lauricella was born in Boston, Ma. and spent almost all of his life in suburban Boston. He has been married to Marilyn for almost 44 years, and together they immigrated to Canada and settled in Port Perry so that they could be loving, everyday grand parents. A former active member of First Parish UU Church in Bridgewater, MA, Peter is currently a member of the UUCD Worship Committee.
Rev. Cheryl Jack - A Credible Jesus
Rev. Jack will explore several possibilities of who Jesus of Nazareth actually was…including the possibility that such a person did not actually exist. More importantly, perhaps, she ponders the question , “Does it matter?”
Rev. Cheryl Jack is minister emerita of the UUCD. She enjoys her participation in the community as an officiant at rites of passage. She is also involved in the Big Sisters of North Durham and can often be seen with her ‘little’ sister. She lives in Beaverton, on Lake Simcoe with her husband Andris Piebalgs.
