Rev. Carly Gaylor was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister in April 2013 and currently serves as a community minister at Welcome Inn Community Centre in Hamilton. As Unitarians we are pledged to uphold democratic principles. Is there an irresolvable conflict between the workings of modern democracies and the personal ethics of those who work in the public sphere? What damage to our social fabric is caused by growing cynicism about government?
