Worship Committee – “The Stories of 2014”
Come to church prepared to tell a story, read a poem, or sing a song to share some of the significant moments that you have encountered in 2014. These could be personal, public, cultural, or fictional highlights that have touched you this year.   Of course, you can also just come to listen if you do not want to share at this time.
Today's service is hosted by the UUCD Worship Committee (a.k.a. the UUCD Sunday Services Committee).

The holidays are experienced in a myriad of different ways by all of us. On this Sunday we will hear stories of how this holy season is experienced from various perspectives… some of which may be familiar to us, and some of which may bring new insights about the richness of the season.

Lori Kyle is the UUCD’s recently hired spiritual leader.  In May 2014 Lori completed her Master of Divinity degree.  She hopes to be ordained in 2015 following her meeting with the Unitarian Universalist Association Ministerial Fellowship Committee in April.

The topic of this Sunday’s service will be chosen by a creative one among us!  At our November 23rd service we learned that we all have until November 30 to submit ideas to Lori about ways of engaging the wider congregation with our youth.  The person whose idea is chosen as best (by the Board) will get to choose the topic of the sermon for this day.  Lori will then deliver!

What do you learn from memorable events?  Why do they matter?  How do you create new memories?  These questions with possible answers and your own insights will add to the day's topic.

The irreverent Ric Jones earned a Master’s from Oklahoma State University focusing on cross-cultural communication and in May 2012, received a Master of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Illinois.  Ric is a certified Healthy Congregation/Organizational facilitator and has completed both the basic and advanced clinics in Emotional Process in Family Systems.  His educational background helps to provide a framework to continue to support corporate executives and congregational leadership focused on transformational change, stress management and how family of origin and social locations impact the person and the organization.  On May 16 of this year, Ric became a Canadian citizen.
